Anne Leone is a research assistant professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Notre Dame. Her monograph, Dante and Blood in the Medieval Context, stemming from her Doctoral dissertation (completed in 2011 at the University of Cambridge) is soon to appear. Her other research interests include Dante’s treatment of female figures, material culture, and intersections between theological, metaliterary and medical issues in Dante’s works. Her work has appeared in Le Tre Corone, Italian Studies and a volume published by Open Book Publishers. As associate director of Italian Studies at Notre Dame, she helps run the Program.
